Strained Resilience / Shapeshifters, Malmö Konstmuseum / Malmö (SE) / 2020

Strained Resilience is a site-specific textile construction made for Malmö Konstmuseum and the exhibition Shapeshifters curated by Anna Johansson.

Two bodies interact with the membranes leaving ephemeral imprints while pressing their limbs, extremities and bodies toward the membrane. The bodily forms become an integrated part of the textile membrane, which heaves and breathes as a consequence of their movements, dissolving the boarders between inside and outside.

Performance duration:  1 hour twice per day every Saturday and Sunday throughout the exhibition period from March to August.

Performed by: Nurtan Lilly Tas and Louisa Lövenhill Peraic

Material: Transparent lycra, stainless steel pipes, connector clamps, construction wood, neoprene and led lights

Size: Inner framework lightbox: 12 * 3 m. Inner framework stainless steel: 12,1 * 3,1 m; Outer framework stainless steel: 4 *3,5 m. Length textile membrane: 9 m. Installation area: 15 * 11 m.

Strained Resilience has been acquired to the permanent collection at Malmö Konstmuseum.
